This British Cardiologist Shocked the World: Fats are Good for You, THIS is why you Gain Weight!
Throughout our life, we frequently hear how fats are bad for our health as they can clog the arteries and significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. But, according to Dr. Asim Malhotra, an eminent British cardiologist, this is not true.
Dr. Malhotra says that a recent research has found that sugar is to blame for your bad health, not fats. He claims that full-fat products are actually good for your health if consumed moderately. It has been found that they are not related to heart diseases –full-fat products such as milk and meat can instead prevent cardiovascular diseases and diabetes! “He suggests that people should avoid the low-fat products that are flooding the market in recent years. I advise them to eat full-fat products and groceries that contain saturated fats. When I say to them to stay away from everything that supposedly lowers cholesterol, they stare at me with their mouths open”, says Dr. Malhotra.
He also says that products intended for lowering your cholesterol levels increase the risk of heart disease. Fats, as he explains, are not the main cause of obesity. “I stayed away from full-fat products, exercised, and I still had stomach fat. That’s when I started researching the effect of fats on my health”, says the doctor.
As we mentioned earlier, Dr. Malhotra claims that sugar is the number one enemy to your health. Dr. Robert Lustig, a fellow professor of his, shares the same view. Dr. Lustig has been studying the link between fats, sugar and obesity in children, and found that sugary products are the most dangerous. He says that they should have a warning label similar to the one found on tobacco and alcohol products. More and more experts, such as cardiologist Gari Tobs, are agreeing with this view. Tobs says that obesity doesn’t have anything with the number of calories we eat – it has to do with what type of food we eat.
These claims are further supported by the fact that 23% of Swedish people eat a full-fat diet with as little carbs as possible. Dr. Andreas Enfeldt is a Swedish cardiologist who developed a diet low in carbs, but high in full-fat which a lot of people see as a “time bomb”. However, while the numbers of obesity are increasing all over the world, they are rapidly decreasing in Sweden. A research conducted by the Swedish Health Council found that the diet lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases while also helping you lose weight.
Two other studies conducted in 2014 by the Institute Of Medical Research at the University of Cambridge showed that full-fat milk can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart diseases if consumed moderately.
