If You Press This Point On Your Foot Before Bed,This Is What It Does To Your Body

Wouldn’t it be great if you could you press a point on your body and get rid of insomnia? This condition affects a great number of people, but now it seems there’s finally a cure!

According to Acupuncture.com, pressing key acupuncture points on the body can affect your quality of sleep and eliminate insomnia forever. The Chinese have been using this practice for centuries and have shared it with the world so you can sleep better than ever!

What are the key acupressure points that may banish insomnia?

There are three important acupressure points on the body which may affect your sleeping, but one of them called LV3 (the Great Rushing point) is considered as a “one-stop healing point for all problems”, including insomnia. This point sits on the fleshy webbing between the big and second toe on top of the foot and applying firm and steady pressure on it for 4-5 seconds can relieve your sleeping troubles.

Acupuncture.com also suggests that P6 (the Inner Gate point) and K1 (the Bubbling Spring point) can also be used to cure insomnia. P6 is located about 3 finger width above the wrist between the tendons, while the K1 point sits on the bottom of your foot at the center of the indentation below the ball of the foot.

The P6 point should be pressed for 5 minutes and then released, while the K1 point needs to be pressed for half a minute, released for 5 seconds, then pressed again for half a minute. Dr. Maoshing Ni of the Acupuncture.com website suggest that the process should be repeated for 5 minutes.

What else can you do to cure insomnia?

The National Sleep Foundation has suggested other tips to cure insomnia. Having a set bedtime as well as a wakeup time can put your body in a routine which should break up the insomnia cycle. A relaxing ritual before going to bed will also help, as would avoiding naps throughout the day, coffee and cigarettes. Of course, eating large, heavy meals before bedtime should be avoided as well. If you can’t fall asleep once in bed, try doing something that will tire you until you feel the need for sleep.

Although none of the suggested techniques may actually help you fall asleep, they may bring you closer to proper overnight rest. Pressuring yourself a little can sometimes be a good thing.
